Well, this church is definitely one of a kind, with its white marble façade and its light blue cupola; built in Mannerist style, this church looks like someone has magically stolen a typical Roman church from Rome to place it in the red heart of Siena. It’s so unique, it looks like a castle from a fairy tale and this is why we suggest you visit it. Furthermore, every July 2 the famous horse race known as Palio di Siena actually begins here, with a cortège composed by the representatives of all the districts (the racing teams) who gather here to pay homage to the holy Advocata Nostra, the Virgin of Provenzano and patroness of the Palio.
