We are in the land of olive oil, of the Taggiasca olives but above all of the Rossese wine of Dolceacqua DOC: all reasons worthy of a visit to this enchanted medieval village. Not to be missed is the Castle of the Doria: to welcome the visitor is a garden and a breathtaking view of the village as well as the “old bridge”, defined by Claude Monet “a jewel of lightness“. In fact, Claude Monet was one of the many to remain enchanted by this place, painting it in four canvases. The Castle is home to cultural and musical events as well as exhibitions throughout the year. Right here, take the panoramic route, with binoculars,  to admire the entire valley, the sea and the Rossese vineyards of Dolceacqua. At the foot of the Castle, there is one of the Regional Enoteca offices in Liguria. The already mentioned Rossese di Dolceacqua is an excellent red wine with a soft and sweet taste. From the surrounding olive groves are the Taggiasca olives are harvested and they are the origin of the Riviera Ligure DOP extra virgin olive oil. Another local speciality that you can taste, especially in Autumn is the barbagiuai: fried dumplings, with ravioli pasta and boiled pumpkin puree with the addition of spicy cheese: only for real foodies!
