Sicilian barbers in Milan – Barberino’s

Barberino's

Sicilian barbers in Milan – “The orange trees perfume the green verges”

Green as the muffled environment of a little piece of paradise “for gentlemen only“.

A wholly artisanal chair, luster of the best Sicilian artisans. Sit down and close your eyes.

The warm towel and a shaving brush dipped in almond soap which is a trip far away…

…The ringing of the bells, the silent square. Everything is closed, except the church, the pastry shop and the barber. “Nico” (as they call the kids in Sicilian dialect) you play football until you hear from calling your name: “Vincenzo let’s go.”  It’s your father, elegant in a  double-breasted jacket, which brings you to cut your hair: “As long as you have the short pants, you shall sit here.” A small stool, while adults comfortly sit on those big, majestic chairs, entirely made in Sicily. They talk about women, cars; they smoke and you impatiently expect that the time will come soon for you too…

We are not in Sicily but in Milan at Barberino’s, a classic Italian barber shop of great value who wanted to import the best Sicilian tradition, combining it (perfectly) with the classic style of the noble Milan. A fascinating world every gentleman in town should discover.

Vincenzo Girasoli

Written by Vincenzo Girasoli

A life dreaming and building a future that has never been so clear and fresh. Made of endless emotions that rise at the sight of the colours that my Mother Land everyday gives me. I travelled, never getting tired, to then stop in front of the blue of my Mediterranean. There I understood that something big, deep, intense and wonderful was happening; and that I would have never stopped. Diving into that sea I knew I could never go back. At the same time, I knew that those feelings would become yours. And that, together, we would have kept going faster towards something pure, authentic, genuine, happy. Something that with pride I call Idressitalian.
