Between Sant’Ambrogio and Carrobbio, at number 7 of Via Cappuccio, inside the perimeter of the ancient city walls, there’s the Chiostro delle Umiliate. This beautiful space belonged to the monastery of Santa Maria Maddalena al Cerchio and was saved by the Ucelli di Nemi family, who bought the entire complex in 1914. On the back, then, there are still ancient plants, the last survivors of the great monastery gardens that now are long gone.
